Healthy Burrito Supreme

Even though we might temporarily be stuck inside due to the coronavirus, it doesn't mean that we can't enjoy some healthy and delicious meals with our families.

That's why in celebration of National Burrito Day, I'm whipping up a healthier version of one of my favorite burritos - the Burrito Supreme!

Healthy Burrito Supreme

  • 1 tbsp Olive Oil (optional)
  • 1 lb Ground beef
  • 1 pk Taco seasoning
  • 2/3 cup Water
  • 1 pk Tortillas
  • 1 cup Shredded Lettuce
  • 1/2 Diced Onion
  • 1/2 Diced Tomato
  • Dairy-Free Sour Cream (optional)
  • Dairy-Free Shredded Cheddar Cheese (optional)


  • Chef's Knife 
  • Cooking Utensils
  • Cutting Board
  • Measuring Cups and Spoons
  • Skillet
  • Stove


  1. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Add olive oil if cooking with 80% or less lean beef. 
  2. Add ground beef and brown in a skillet for 7 minutes. Break up and stir frequently. Drain if needed.
  3. Add taco seasoning and water to skillet. Bring to a boil.
  4. Reduce heat and simmer for 4 minutes, stirring frequently until cooked through.
  5. To assemble the burrito, warm the tortilla in the microwave or clean skillet for 10 seconds.
  6. Top the burrito with 1/2 cup of the taco meat, 1/4 cup shredded lettuce, 1 tbsp onion, 1 tbsp tomato, 1 tbsp sour cream, and 1 tbsp cheese.
  7. Fold and enjoy!
